"Butterflies are self-propelled flowers."
Much as I wish that lovely thought came from me, I quote Linda and Dick Buscher, who quote sci-fi writer Robert H. Heinlein in their recent article, "The Largest Butterfly Pavilion on the Continent" about Butterfly Wonderland, a living rainforest experience opening May 25 at the new facility located in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community in Scottsdale. This one's worth a field trip!

Just down the road from Anthem, time travel to the 1800's Pioneer Living History Museum and see for yourself how the Arizona pioneers lived. This authentic village boasts a sheriff's office, jail, schoolhouse, saloon, church, gallows, graveyard, and ye olde shoppes of all kinds - including tonsorial. Open Wednesdays through Sundays 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with expanded summer hours 7:00 a.m - 11:00 p.m. starting June 1.
